Privacy Policy

1. What we process

Namepraise does not require an account and does not ask for your name or payment details. We process the domain or URL you submit; API clients may also provide an intended use and audience language. Domain names and free-text input can contain personal information, so do not submit confidential information or personal details you do not need us to process.

Network requests necessarily expose connection information such as your IP address to the server and hosting infrastructure. If you email us, your address and message are used to handle your enquiry.

2. How the domain is used

The submitted domain is used solely to produce your result:

URL paths and query strings are not sent to Jev or RDAP by the application. We use submissions to deliver and cache evaluations, not to sell domain ideas or build advertising profiles. Connection-derived identifiers are used to limit abusive requests.

3. What we store

In server memory: the application caches Jev answers, keyed by domain, intent, audience, model and rubric, for reuse for about 30 minutes (up to 500 entries). RDAP results are reused for about 10 minutes; failures briefly, normally 30 seconds. Expired entries are removed during expiry checks, eviction or process restart. It does not maintain a persistent database of submitted domains or scores.

Rate limiting uses short-lived counters associated with a salted hash of the connection address, rather than storing raw IP addresses in that counter map. Operational metrics contain aggregate request counts, timings and token totals, not submitted domain names or intent text. Daily call and token-budget counters are saved to disk so restarting the service does not reset the allowance; those counters contain no submitted domains or user identifiers.

In your browser: the theme preference is stored in local storage under namepraise-theme until you clear it. The application does not transmit that preference. CSS and JavaScript assets may be cached by your browser.

4. No cookies, no tracking

The Namepraise application sets no cookies and embeds no behavioural analytics or tracking pixels. Aggregate operational metrics are used to maintain the service. Google Fonts is an external network dependency, and clicking a registrar link takes you to a separate service with its own cookie and privacy practices.

5. Infrastructure logs

Hosting and network infrastructure may keep request logs, including IP addresses, user agents, timestamps and requested URLs, for operation and security. Retention depends on the deployed infrastructure and is not the same as the application cache lifetime. Application error logs use a request identifier and error category, rather than full submissions or provider response bodies. Contact us if you need information about a particular request or deployment.

6. Third parties

Jev and RDAP: receive the evaluation inputs described above over HTTPS. Jev and registry operators apply their own retention practices; their processing is not limited by our in-memory cache lifetimes.

Google Fonts: your browser requests a stylesheet from fonts.googleapis.com and font data from fonts.gstatic.com. These connections disclose your IP address and browser request information to Google. The application does not send your evaluated domain to Google Fonts.

Dynadot: no registrar request is made by the application merely to show the result. If you click the registration link, your browser opens Dynadot with the evaluated domain in the search URL. Its privacy policy applies there.

Third-party processing may take place in other countries. Contact us with questions about recipients or international processing; this policy does not promise a provider retention period or transfer arrangement that we have not verified.

7. Your rights and choices

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct or erase personal data, restrict or object to processing, or complain to a data protection authority. Contact hello@namepraise.com to make a request. We will assess requests under applicable law; we may need enough information to locate the relevant data and verify the request. The absence of an account does not mean these rights cannot apply.

You can clear the theme preference and cached assets through your browser's site-data controls, avoid submitting personal information, and choose not to follow registrar links.

8. Children

Namepraise is not directed at children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, contact us so we can assess and address the request.

9. Changes to this policy

If the service ever gains features that process data differently (accounts, analytics, etc.), this policy will be updated first. The "last updated" date reflects the current version.

10. Contact
